Svitlana and Artur — husband and wife, partners in business and in life. We co-own two Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Manhattan, and we share the real numbers because nobody else in dance does.
We’re Artur Sveshnikov and Svitlana Gliebova — a husband-and-wife team building a business and a life together. We came from Ukraine in 2008 and have been with the Fred Astaire franchise ever since. Today we live in New York with our two daughters and run two very successful Fred Astaire dance studios in Manhattan — with a third on the way.
But being in a franchise doesn’t mean anyone hands you the answers. Opening our first studio, we had endless questions. What should we charge for a lesson? What should the profit margin be? Where do we find good teachers — and where do we find students? Can we afford a receptionist, or a manager? How much do we pay ourselves? We copied what other studios did until we realized most of them were guessing too. You run it on your own. So we built our own playbook the hard way: wrong hires, underpriced lessons, events that lost money, paying ourselves last, months where the math didn’t work.
Business of Ballroom is where we share the real numbers and the real systems — pricing, follow-up, retention math — so you don’t have to learn it the expensive way. Practical strategies. No theory. Just what works on an actual studio floor.
Opening our first studio, we had endless questions and nobody to ask. So we figured it out ourselves, one expensive lesson at a time. Business of Ballroom is those answers — pricing, hiring, follow-up, the real numbers — all in one place.
Practical strategies. No theory. If it didn't survive our own studios, it doesn't go on this site.
